Volunteer!
Please consider helping out with your 'Unison' branch - it's run by volunteers. Volunteering doesn't mean you'll be thrown in the deep end - or abandoned in the deep end! Here's some of the ways you can help as an individual:
- Recruit another member
- Our membership at BSU isn't weak, but we could always do with more. If you know that someone is interested in joining, help them out.
- Act as a workplace representative
- A workplace rep. is a point of contact for members - you'll help everyone by passing information both upstream and down.
- Volunteer as a health and safety rep.
- This is a useful role for union members and also for BSU management. You can get going immediately, also, training is available from Unison. You'll get to know the site better, and other people's workplaces, allowing you opportunities to network.
- Make contact with a Unison steward
- We'll help you find something you'll find worthwhile and provide more information for you to help you decide.
