Bristol International Airport is only 20 miles away from Bath and now operates flights to many major cities including Paris, Madrid and New York.
To travel from Bristol Airport to Bath, take the Airport Bus to Bristol Temple Meads railway station and then either take a train to Bath Spa station or a FirstGroup bus (either the 339 or the X39). Both the 339 and X39 bus services stop outside Bristol Temple Meads station. Alternatively, a taxi from Bristol Airport to Bath Spa University, Newton Park Campus is currently quoted at £40 / £45-50 for the centre of Bath.
If you are flying to London Heathrow, London Stansted, London Luton or London Gatwick airport, you will need to make your way to London Paddington railway station, from London Paddington there is an hourly train service to Bath Spa railway station.
First Great Western operate a regular train service to Bath Spa railway station from London Paddington (duration - 1 hour 35 minutes) and Bristol Temple Meads (duration - 15 minutes).
If you are coming from the North, Virgin trains operate a Cross Country service which stops at Bristol Temple Meads, from where you can easily connect to Bath. Bath Spa is also easily accessible from South Coast stations such as Portsmouth Harbour, Southampton Central and Weymouth; and from Exeter St David's and Plymouth in the South West.
The following are directions to the centre of Bath / Newton Park campus from the M4, which links Bristol to London. (For those travelling from the North or the South West on the M5, it will be necessary to change to the M4 at junction 15).
This is the city centre. There is a car park on Charlotte Street. Exit Queen
Square onto the A4 at Queen Square Place (second exit from Queen Square). For
alternative parking take the first exit from Queen Square onto the A367. This
will lead you down Chapel Row, Charles Street and Green Park Road. Turn left
onto Avon Street and immediately right onto Corn Street; there is a multi-story
car park on Corn Street and another multi-story car park at the entrance to the
new Southgate shopping centre (turn right at the end of Corn Street). Centre of

Exit Queen Square onto the A4 Queen Square Place / Charlotte Street.

At the traffic lights (by A3064 turnoff), get into the right-hand lane and proceed straight ahead along A4 Upper Bristol Road.

At the traffic lights (by A431 turnoff), get into the left-hand lane and proceed along A4 Newbridge Road.

After crossing the river, turn right at the traffic lights onto the dual carriageway (A4).

Take the second exit at the 'Globe Inn' roundabout to join the A39. The campus entrance is immediately on your left.

Watch out for bendy buses (Bright Orange Bus) and pedestrians along the driveway, and use passing bays when necessary. Please note that the speed limit is 15 mph on campus.
To Bath Spa University by Bus
Bath Spa University's Newton Park Campus is easily accessed from the centre of Bath by a regular bus service (the Bright Orange Bus, service number 418) which leaves once every hour during holidays. The Bloomsbury Adaptations Conference will be taking place on University holidays so the 418 will be operating according to the holiday timetable featured below. Taxi Share to Bath Spa University
