Get it off your chest  installation, :  video projection on a screen of 54 breast casts (2000, June Bianchi: artwork, video and production;  Derek Pierce : audio).  Commissioned for Michael Tippett Centre.

Get it off your chest, June Bianchi’s multimedia installation, comprises a wall-screen of 54 breast casts taken from women ranging from 18-70 years; on which is projected video of digitally created images and text, informed by June’s interviews with around 100 women and men; the soundtrack, by Derek Pierce, is synthesised from vocals and text.  The installation  celebrates the diversity of women’s bodies in contrast to the frequently stereotyped images generated by the media.  Get it off your chest installation explores breasts as primary signifiers of female identity within Western culture.
